Telescope Viewing at Edith StephensWhen some SAAO members set up telescopes right next to the offices of the Primary Science Programme in Edith Stephens Wetland Park (Cape Town), the weather didn't look too promising. But the Moon was up and clearly visible, and so an interested crowd could figure out what this well-known object looks like when viewed through an eyepiece. And while people were enjoying an introduction to astronomy, the clouds disappeared at least to some extent. So afterwards from time to time a glimpse at Saturn with its rings was possible as well! |
