The Department of Science and Technology has earmarked funds to support projects and activities to be implemented through various SET stakeholders around South Africa. 

These implementations need to assist in the realisation of the vision of IYA2009 through the promotion of astronomy amongst educational institutions and the public, with a focus on building and supporting human resources.

Please note that the deadline for proposals is close of business, Friday 13th February 2009. Earlier applications are encouraged, where possible.
